What You'll Actually Learn Here

Most business owners know they should pay attention to their finances. But honestly? Looking at spreadsheets can feel overwhelming when you're busy running everything else. We break down analysis into manageable pieces.

Cash Flow Reality

Forget complex accounting theory. Learn to spot where money moves in your business and identify patterns that matter for planning ahead.

Ratio Context

Financial ratios only help when you understand what they mean for your specific situation. We teach practical interpretation, not memorization.

Trend Recognition

Comparing numbers month to month reveals more than single snapshots ever could. Develop the skill to notice what's changing and why it matters.

How Our Sessions Work

  • Start with your actual business data. Bring real examples from your operation and work through them during class time with guidance.
  • Focus on questions that come up in normal business situations. Like figuring out if you can afford new equipment or whether pricing needs adjustment.
  • Build confidence through repetition. We revisit core concepts multiple ways so they stick beyond the classroom.
  • Connect with others facing similar challenges. Many participants find peer discussions just as valuable as formal instruction.

Programs Starting September 2025

We run cohort-based programs twice yearly. Fall sessions begin mid-September and wrap before the holiday rush. Spring programs typically start late March.

Linnea Bjørnstad, business analysis instructor

Meet Linnea Bjørnstad

I spent fifteen years doing financial analysis for mid-sized companies before realizing most business owners could benefit from the same skills. But they didn't need the corporate complexity.

So I started teaching simplified versions of what actually helps. The kind of analysis you can do on a Tuesday afternoon when you're deciding whether to expand or hold steady. My programs skip the theory you'll never use and focus on practical tools for real decisions.

Based in High Prairie since 2019, I work with businesses across Alberta and remotely throughout Canada.
